The RoomScan app seems to be something else, something we haven't seen before. It lets you use your iPhone to measure the rooms in your home and turn your measurements into floor plans.
All you have to do is walk around the room and touch your iPhone to the walls.
To get started you'll need to be connected to an AirPlay speaker, as the app will guide you with voice commands that you should follow for best results. To measure a room, even if it's not a regular rectangle, simply place your iPhone against a wall, wait for the sound, and then start moving to the next wall.
Finally, you should touch your device to the second wall, press “Done” and you already have one dimension. Continuing in the same way, the application will measure and create a single space. Then it will announce the distances between the walls and the area, in meters or feet.
The app is also available for iPad, with an improved interface for the device's larger screen.
The app is free, but if you want to scan your entire house and put together a plan that includes every room, you'll have to pay $5.

The 4.1.1 update gives users who haven't purchased the app more features of the Pro version. It should be noted that designs created with the free app have a light watermark.
