Sleep Number is a company that's changing the way we sleep. At the International Consumer Electronics Show on Tuesday, Sleep Number introduced the x12, a mattress that not only has built-in sensors that track how well you and your partner are sleeping, but can respond to voice commands to stop snoring with a massage.
The x12, which will go on sale in select markets next month and in the U.S. next year, has built-in sensors that track your movements and provide biofeedback to everyday smart home devices like TVs and connected devices.
With SleepIQ technology, as the company calls it, it tracks movement in bed, your average breathing rate, and your heart rate to determine how well you slept. The x12 mattress with SleepIQ can work with an app to track anything that might affect your sleep, like diet, exercise, caffeine, or a sick child. Based on your biometric information, the mattress will rank you on a sleep scorecard and suggest different firmness and support settings to help improve your sleep.
