Sir Richard Branson is expected to travel to space in 2014 on Virgin Galactic, while all of us here on Earth will have the opportunity to watch it live.
NBC has revealed that it will broadcast the historic flight on its Today show next year. The exact dates for the three-hour live broadcast are not yet known, as they depend on flight tests. If all goes well, the flight and broadcast will likely take place in August 2014.
“This first chapter in commercial space travel will help raise awareness and inspire more people to pursue space exploration,” Branson said.
Branson will make the trip with his two children, Holly, 31, and Sam, 28, for company.
