The... German "big brother" is revealed to have come to Greece, but according to the German government, Athens has not (yet) asked for explanations for the wiretapping and monitoring of citizens!
In addition to the actions of the American and British secret services, the German secret services have also dynamically entered the game of mass surveillance of internet users, monitoring citizens of 196 countries, including Greece.
The issue that has caused a stir was addressed by the spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry, who pointed out that as of 11:30 (German time) the Greek government had not officially requested explanations from Berlin and no such request had been submitted, either to the Foreign Ministry or to the German embassy in Athens.
The issue of internet surveillance of citizens was also addressed by the deputy spokesman for the Chancellery, Georg Streiter. He noted that internal documents of the German Intelligence Service (BND) submitted in a recent court proceeding describe telecommunications routes, but the mention of certain countries does not in any way mean that these countries are targets of BND surveillance.
"This means that this list, which is mentioned there, describes telecommunications routes that can be followed, but does not describe the BND's surveillance objectives," Mr. Streiter emphasized and noted that the entire basis of the publication is incorrect.
