According to the YouTube video showing the Unbox Therapy bend test, the iPhone 6s Plus is a pretty capable weightlifter.
After the video showing an iPhone 6s and 6s Plus being submerged in water for 48 hours with little to no damage, the 6s Plus went to the gym in a bend test video posted by Lewis Hilsenteger on his YouTube channel, Unbox Therapy.
As seen in the video, the device doesn't start to show any signs of damage until Hilsenteger puts a 125-pound weight on it.
Furthermore, at 100 pounds, the phone shows absolutely no signs that the weight is affecting its casing or internal components.
This compares to the previous 5.5-inch model, the 6s Plus, which would collapse at 200 pounds of force. As Unbox Therapy's video shows, the new 7000 Series aluminum alloy used by Apple to build the new 6s and 6s Plus really makes a difference.
Ultimately, the test model broke once the weight reached 180 pounds. It should also be noted that all of the weight it supported was concentrated in its middle section, which makes it even more impressive, considering that this is the quickest way to make a thin device like the 6s Plus break into small pieces.
Overall, Unbox Therapy's "take your iPhone 6s Plus to the gym" experiment proved that Apple's new 5.5-inch model can lift up to 100 pounds of weight, which isn't bad for someone with a 7.3mm circumference.
Also, even though Apple released its new phones a week ago, there's still no #bendgate on the horizon, a sign that good times are coming for owners of 5.5-inch iPhones.
