PRESS RELEASE – Meeting at the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime (DIE), on the electronic security of the referendum of 5-7-2015
The electronic security measures that will be taken for the referendum on Sunday (5-7-2015) were the topic of a meeting held the day before yesterday (30th June 2015) at the headquarters of the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime.
The meeting was attended by: the Head of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate (DIE), Major General Emmanouil Sfakianakis, the Head of the Department of Technological Equipment and Networks of the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction together with his colleagues, the Head of the National Cybersecurity Response Team (CERT), as well as executives of the company SINGULAR LOGIC, responsible for the flow of results and the telecommunications entities involved (Information Society for the SYZEFXIS, OTE and FORTHNET network).
The need for vigilance and attention was emphasized to avoid electronic attacks or interference-outages, when submitting the results from the country's Regions to the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, as well as reporting any suspicious incident for investigation to the competent Risk Management Team, which will oversee the entire process.
From the participants' perspective, technical readiness was confirmed, aiming for a successful and smooth outcome of the technical aspect of the referendum.
