Trust me, I'm an Admin: How to stop persistent Windows

Windows

For your own safety, operating systems ship with a basic level of protection. On Windows, it's a bit annoying, due to the repeated prompts and messages asking for permission to run almost anything you download from the Internet.

  • One solution is to install an antivirus that you fully trust, although there is no one that can adequately your system.
  • Another method is to take full responsibility for your actions, disabling all prompts, and hoping everything will go well.

There are two features that Microsoft uses to try to warn you about potential threats. One is by constantly and persistently asking for permission to run most of the new programs you download, while the other is more geared towards digital signatures, and you're less likely to encounter it.

In case you are…curious and want to learn how to disable them, follow the steps below:

To disable UAC:

Step1:

Click the icon of the Action Center (Action Center) and select to open it (Open Action Center)

Step2:

Click to change the user account control settings so that the menu appears.

Step3:

Move the slider one position down so that it continues to be visible, but at the same time you have access to the rest of the desktop.

Step4:

Move the slider two positions down from the default position to take full responsibility for your actions.

Note: The above setting disables notifications for all files running from that point on. If you are using Windows 7, UAC allows you to confirm this once and for all files. Unfortunately Windows 8 unfortunately asks every time unless you disable UAC completely.

To disable SmartScreen:

Step1:

Open the Control Panel

Step2:

Go to System and Security

Step3:

Click on the Action Center

Step4:

Select to change the SmartScreen settings

Step5:

Select the last option and your Windows will no longer do anything.

Note: SmartScreen does not appear that often and it is preferable to leave it enabled if you frequently download files from the Internet, especially from unsafe sites.
