Evening lecture on the topic: "Personal data, its security on the internet and the legal framework that governs it" on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 18.00-20.00 at Mediterranean College.
Personal data constitute the set of information that refers to an individual and describes/identifies them in their environment. It includes their name, their address, their mobile number, the school they attend, the places they travel to, etc. By maintaining control over personal data, one also maintains control over their private life. However, how secure are this personal data on the Internet? Which law governs the codes and rights of these sensitive pieces of information in cyberspace?
An evening that attempts to provide some answers to these questions is being organized by the School of Informatics of Mediterranean College on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the College's facilities in Athens.
The event - which is aimed at students, graduates of universities and technical institutes as well as professionals and entrepreneurs in cyberspace - will be coordinated by Mr. Panagiotis Galiotos, Coordinator of the School of Informatics of Mediterranean College. Speakers at the evening will be Mr. Vasilis Zorkadis (from the Personal Data Protection Authority), Dr. Anna Tatsaki(Security Expert, Intracom Telecom) and Messrs. Zoulovics Mina/ Fylla Anastasia from the law firm "Filotheidis & Partners".
Many and crucial are the topics that will be discussed: The interpretation of security in " Cloud computing " and " Big data " will be given. Techniques and tools for collecting personal data will be examined, as well as methods for protecting them. The possibility of anonymizing data will be examined . Finally, elements that touch on the legal framework of personal data in cyberspace will be discussed , as well as techniques such as Hacking and Ethical Hacking, and how they affect them.
Mediterranean College is the only one in Greece that offers an undergraduate program in Networks and Computer Security.
