Drug traffickers in Mexico even employed drones to transport a quantity of methamphetamine by air and smuggle it into the US.
However, the small aircraft carrying the drug crashed in… a supermarket parking lot on the Mexican side of the border.
According to Tijuana police, the drone crashed Tuesday night into a supermarket near the San Ysidro border crossing, on the Mexico-California border.
After investigations, six packages containing 2.7 kilograms of methamphetamine were found stuck to the aircraft. Tijuana police are trying to identify the operators of the remote-controlled drone.
It is worth noting that small unmanned aircraft are only one of the ingenious ways by which drugs pass the borders invisibly.
