A recall and replacement program for cable power for Lenovo and Ideapad notebooks is being carried out by Lenovo Technology BV, through its branch in Greece, as announced by the General Secretariat for Industry, as there is a risk of overheating and, in rare cases, ignition of the cable.
Specifically, the affected power cables were distributed between February 2011 and June 2012. In Greece, the recall concerns a total of 11,360 units.
To date, no accidents have been reported in Greece. Worldwide, Lenovo has received 16 reports of power cord failures, 3 of which resulted in damage to personal property.
