A new product from Trustev has big ambitions: to get rid of the trolls circulating in Internet comments.
The company has developed a product for publishers that will help them blacklist trolls, even if IP address , browser, email address has changed, or they are trying to hide using a VPN.
Trusten says it uses a "digital fingerprint" consisting of hundreds of data points, such as the MAC , cell tower, device ID, but the best thing is that it can detect abusive behavior, and then punish the user with a permanent ban.
The company probably knows what it's doing, considering it also offers a successful e-commerce product for fraud protection.
Once banned, these users can't simply re-register an account to comment again, because the service logs them, ensuring they can't come back using a different email address or device. Of course, the service isn't free and is priced on a per-app basis. However, the cost is quite affordable.
