Steve Wozniak, friend and partner of Steve Jobs, turns history upside down
It is well known that Apple Steve Wozniak co-founder never looked like Steve Jobs . Shy, reserved, lenient with employees and usually low-key, he was the “wizard” who designed the circuit boards of the company’s first computers.
In recent years, he has debunked several stories about Apple and has often been a harsh critic of some of its products. So “Boz” strikes again and in an interview with Bloomberg ’s Businessweek says that the “mythical” garage in Jobs’s childhood home, where the Apple empire is believed to have started, actually never existed!
“The garage is part of a myth,” Wozniak said when asked about the company’s early years. “We didn’t design, we didn’t build the boards, we didn’t manufacture any devices there. The garage served no particular purpose, other than it was a place that felt like home. We didn’t have any money back then. And when you don’t have money, you have to work outside the home.”
As Steve Wozniak says today, most of the work to assemble the motherboards of the first Apple computers was done at his workplace at the time, at the Hewlett-Packard in Cupertino.
