µTorrent is probably the most well-known torrent client right now, but it now appears as a dangerous file for Google Chrome .
According to TorrentFreak, Google considers the µTorrent installation file to be dangerous for the computer and prohibits its download.
Users who tried to download the latest version of the application from the official sitereceive the following message, as shown in the image, with µTorrent being considered malware.
The answer comes from Google's Safe Browsing API database , which contains information about all "dangerous" files.
According to Google, the µTorrent site has hosted dangerous files and has even infected 7 websites and has been categorized for “strange activity” 21 times in the last 90 days.
µTorrent is certainly not dangerous itself, but according to some security researchers, it is possible that Google considered one of the ads that comes with the installation fileto be dangerous.
This ad can be bypassed during installation, but it seems Google has become overprotective.
Various security programs have recently shown similar sensitivities , which detect additional programs contained in other people's installations as malware.
But security programs are one thing, browsers are another!
