Do you have the habit of putting your cell phone in your pants?
If you keep reading, then the only thing that's certain is that you won't do it again.
Scientists from the University of Exeter wanted, through their new study, to correlate the electronic radiation of mobile phones when they are in our pants, with possible risks to our health.
According to their findings, published in the journal "Environment International" and resulting from the combined analysis of ten previous studies, the mobile phone in the pocket negatively affects the number and motility of sperm.
"Studies consistently come to the same conclusion: sperm motility decreases in proportion to exposure to mobile phones, while the number of live sperm decreases by 8%," says lead researcher and director of the university's Biosciences Program, Fiona Matthews.
As scientists note, good motility is a prerequisite for fertility, as sperm must swim a long distance to reach the vagina from the fallopian tube where fertilization of the egg will take place.
Therefore, men who have a diagnosed infertility problem should avoid putting their cell phones in their pants pockets, however, further studies are still needed for the findings to be considered definitive.
