The robotics team of DELASAL College of Thessaloniki, under the name ROBOT MASTERS, achieves the impossible, winning two cups and the recognition of an exemplary presence, at the Open Pan-European FLL Educational Robotics Championship for children 9-16 years old, in Pamplona, Spain.
The five-member ROBOT MASTERS team, together with two others that had qualified for the 1st Pan-Hellenic FLL Greece Competition in Thessaloniki, with the theme of natural disasters (Nature's Fury), traveled to Pamplona, Spain, and managed to bring our country the great distinction that made us proud!
And now the history of success: In December 2013, the ROBOT MASTERS team declared its participation in the Panhellenic Educational Robotics Competition, which was organized for the first time in Greece by the non-profit organization EduACT - Action for Education. It built an amazing robot that prevents natural disasters and in March, at the 1st Panhellenic First Lego League Greece Competition (NOESIS 8-9/3/2014), it won first place in the robot's performance (Robot Performance) and 2nd place in the overall ranking of the competition (Champions Award). It thus secured its participation in the Panhellenic FLL Championship (Open European FLL Championship Pamplona, Spain, 28-31 May 2014).
Within just two months, it rebuilt its robot and completed its research on the Santorini volcano in English. Carrying in her luggage the love and wishes of her school and friends, incredible strength of soul, passion, delicacies and images of Greece, she sets up her booth among 96 teams from 42 countries from all over the world, among 825 children and a total of approximately 1500 participants.
The great distinction is not long in coming: the ROBOT MASTERS conquer 3rd place in Robot Performance with their wonderful robot, as well as the special honorary Robot Demo Award due to qualifying for the grand final of the competition, after consecutive knock out matches and leaving out all the known favorites. Gathering the maximum score in both the Project Challenge and the Core Values, she is also nominated for the Research, Innovation, Presentation, Inspiration, Teamwork and Gracious Professionalism awards (Evgenis Amilla).
The local press of Pamplona pays tribute to the DELASAL team twice, speaking in the most complimentary words about their exemplary competitive behavior and their unique spirit, with which they managed to excite the 1500-person auditorium that enthusiastically cheered "ROBOT MASTERS".
