A new add-on for Google's Chrome browser promises to help us improve our English pronunciation. It's essentially a word game based on voice recognition technology.
Spell Up challenges users to pronounce words correctly, solve tongue twisters, and discover mystery words. At the same time, users can earn bonuses and collect virtual coins to level up much faster.
The new “Chrome experiment” – as Google describes the app – helps us improve our English using our voice, through a modern and user-friendly browser. It’s like a form of virtual spelling.
To make Spell Up a fun way to teach, Google says it worked with educators and game designers.
The aim of the game is to correctly spell the words you hear and connect them to build the tallest tower of words - letter by letter and word by word. The taller the tower, the more difficult the vocabulary challenges.
