A service that will provide Greek consumers with electronic discount coupons, through an application that they will be able to access from their mobile phones, has been announced by First Data Hellas in collaboration with Warply, a mobile marketing services company.
The service - the first of its kind to be launched in Greece - will offer consumers the opportunity to receive online offers or discount coupons on their mobile phone, which they will be able to redeem quickly and easily at the points of sale of participating retail stores, simply using their mobile device, without having to show a printed receipt.
Warply’s e-couponing technology enables providers, suppliers, and retailers to design and distribute coupons, which can be stored on First Data’s processing platform. Using the designed application, consumers will be able to access electronic coupons issued by all partner providers. When selecting a coupon, consumers will be able to redeem it at the partner retailer’s point of sale using a unique four- to six-digit code. Upon completion of the transaction, the offer/price reduction will be automatically entered into the customer’s account and recorded on the receipt.
The new e-couponing platform with mobile application will offer Greek consumers the opportunity to benefit from current offers and price reductions, as well as further conveniences such as fast transaction processing and faster service. In addition, suppliers, providers and retailers will be able to carry out more effective promotions and offers for their products, using electronic messages sent directly to the consumer's mobile device.
First Data and Warply plan to launch the new service in July, in collaboration with Greek retailers, as well as selected international suppliers operating in the Greek market.
