The latest version of Yahoo! Messenger for iOS seems to have disappointed many users, as it lacks some important features and does not work in landscape mode. Yahoo continues to develop new updates for the app, but it seems to be failing to meet user demands.
“Stay connected with your friends, anytime, from anywhere with Yahoo Messenger. Send free text messages internationally. Share photos and videos with your Messenger contacts in real time,” Yahoo in the app description.
Users can make free voice and video calls with their friends, share photos, receive notifications when a message arrives (even when using a different app), and send free international SMS messages to the US, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Canada, Pakistan, Kuwait, and Thailand.
Version 2.2.9 comes with security improvements and support for Retina displays, however avid users of the app were hoping for something completely different.
There are many user complaints, while a large percentage complain and express disappointment, as the updated version no longer supports landscape mode.
