A few days ago, Google introduced two new apps for iPhone and Android devices for creating and editing text files and spreadsheets.
These are the Docs and Sheets applications , which work with the user's Google Drive account .
Google made this move because it realized that the majority of the public has never used Google Drive, therefore, they either don't know it exists or their full capabilities.
However, after the latest update to the Google Drive application , editing and creating text files and spreadsheets will be done exclusively from the new applications, although it initially seemed that they would be separate and optional.
This move by Google is reminiscent of Facebook's decision to make the Messenger app essential for users who wish to chat.
