And while the United States continues to accuse China of carrying out cyberattacks against American networks, the latest report issued by the China (CNCERT) shows that America is responsible for 30% of attacks against the country's computer systems.
According to the report, a total of 61,000 websites were compromised during 2013, while the rate of cyberattacks increased by 62.1% compared to 2012. In addition to the United States, many of the attacks also originated from South Korea and Hong Kong.
CNCERT reveals that a total of 11 million computers were hacked last year by external actors. Regarding government websites, 90% of provincial, municipal and local government websites were hacked or had backdoors installed on them.
Many of the attacks were carried out by Anonymous, who are reportedly responsible for the breach of at least 600 websites.
