Dropbox 2.6.2 RC has been released for OS X, Windows, and Linux users with some fixes to address the issue with the "sign out" option and incompatibility with Growl, a platform-specific tweak for Mac users.
Version 2.6.2 is being prepared for its final debut, the latest candidate release arrives today with a series of fixes for all supported platforms.
A cross-platform patch reportedly prevents users from being logged out when downgrading to Dropbox 2.6. On Mac, compatibility with Growl has been addressed under OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Growl is a third-party notification system for users who do not have a version of OS X with Notification Center or prefer a secondary/alternative notification system.
