Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that pre-orders for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) will open on June 25th, giving millions of fans of the series the first real opportunity to secure their copy before the game's release. Pre-orders will be available via the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and select retailers worldwide.

The company also revealed the official cover art for the title, which features the two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, framed by iconic images of the new Vice City. The artwork includes helicopters, boats, wild animals, and several other characters from the game, giving a first taste of the atmosphere and scope of the new world that Rockstar has created.

GTA VI: Release in November 2026, but not yet for PC
GTA VI will be released on November 19, 2026 exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles . Rockstar has not yet announced a release date for PC, essentially following the same strategy it had implemented with GTA V.
This tactic comes as no surprise to industry insiders. The previous game in the series arrived on PC several months after its console release, allowing the company to focus initially on optimizing the experience on Sony and Microsoft platforms. If Rockstar follows the same model again, the PC version could be delayed by more than a year.
How much will GTA VI cost?
Although the company has not yet revealed the final prices or the different versions of the game, market analysts estimate that the basic version will range between $70 and $80, following the new pricing policy of modern AAA producers.
It remains unknown whether there will be collector's editions or premium packs with additional digital content, items for the online portion of the game, or exclusive bonuses for those who pre-order.

A game without Generative AI
One of the most interesting details revealed by Take-Two concerns the game's development process. The company's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, emphasized that GTA VI is a project created entirely by human development teams, without the use of Generative AI tools.
According to him, Rockstar's worlds are constructed with exquisite detail, "building by building and street by street," following the philosophy that made the Grand Theft Auto series a global phenomenon.
This positioning is particularly important at a time when many companies in the industry are considering ways to leverage AI in content creation. Rockstar, on the other hand, seems to be investing in a handmade approach, believing that human creativity remains the most important competitive advantage.

The biggest release of the decade?
Expectations surrounding GTA VI are huge. Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 230 million copies across three console generations and continues to generate significant revenue through GTA Online, more than a decade after its initial release.
Take-Two believes the new title will lead the company to levels of operational performance it has never seen before. The game's impact is already evident in the market, as several major publishers have revised their release plans, avoiding placing major titles in November 2026.
GTA VI is not just another video game. It is a release that has the potential to impact the entire gaming industry, redefine commercial expectations, and prove once again why Rockstar is considered one of the most important creative forces in the history of video games.
