Security companies are making efforts to isolate and destroy the Koobface virus that has been hitting Facebook in recent days.
How to protect yourself from the virus, but also what to do if you "stepped on it"!
As we have already informed you, Koobface invites you to click on a link that (supposedly) comes from one of your friends.
How to protect yourself If you receive a message with a malicious link, delete it immediately!
If you open it, your computer will be infected with the virus. It is a good idea to log out of your account and change your password immediately.
Did you "step on it"? Here's the solution!
If you clicked on the link and were infected by the virus, you need to delete it from your apps. To do this, click on the gear icon (top right of the Facebook page), select Privacy Settings Apps and click "X" on any app that doesn't look familiar or that you don't use.
As security experts emphasize, it is a good idea to change your password and "run" an antivirus on your computer to check if it has been infected by a file.
