The Galaxy S26 Ultra is one of the first devices to offer the new task automation feature developed by Google and Samsung, known as Gemini. This feature allows the device to use certain apps on your behalf in a virtual window to handle tasks like ordering food or arranging rideshare services based on simple commands.

The feature isn't yet widely available, but it's been in beta as part of an update. The original command was to call an Uber to the airport. Gemini asked for clarification on which airport to use, then added the destination and chose to skip the airline reference, which was unnecessary at the local airport.

For a more complex request, such as ordering a coffee and croissant, Gemini asked for additional information and spent time browsing the Starbucks menu. However, it successfully found the type of coffee the user selected and decided to heat up the chocolate croissant without their intervention. This level of performance is impressive, especially considering that just a year ago, AI assistants struggled with such details.

Testing of this automation feature will continue in the coming days to see how well it handles various tasks. So far, it's encouraging to see this feature working effectively in real-world scenarios.
