A Reddit user has highlighted the issue he’s been experiencing with his MX Master 3S . He reported that after nearly two years of using the mouse without any issues, the scrolling direction suddenly changed and the extra buttons stopped working as intended. When checking the Logi+ app, he found that it was stuck in a boot loop. Attempts to reset the laptop, reset the mouse, force close it, and reinstall the app were unsuccessful.

Another Reddit user identified the cause: Logitech had allowed Apple's Developer Certificate to expire. Because the certificate was no longer valid, the companion app couldn't run or update automatically.

Logitech acknowledged the error, stating: “We made a serious mistake here. This is an inexcusable mistake. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”

The company has created a support page with instructions for resolving the issue:

**Options**

1. Download the updated 'patch' installer for Options+.

2. Double-click the file you downloaded.

3. The installer will automatically close and Options+ will launch.

4. Your devices, settings, and customizations should be fully restored.

This situation has caused inconvenience to users of Logitech devices, especially those who rely on them for their daily work. The need for manual correction can be frustrating, but Logitech has tried to provide clear instructions to resolve the issue. Users are urged to follow the instructions carefully to restore the functionality of their devices.

Logitech's recognition of the error and immediate response to provide a solution demonstrates its commitment to customer satisfaction. However, this incident highlights the importance of keeping certificates up to date, especially when it comes to software that is widely used by professionals.
