Amazon is using Alexa Plus to bring new AI capabilities to its streaming music service. Starting today, customers participating in the beta trial, Alexa Plus Early Access, will be able to access the generative AI assistant within the Amazon Music (on iOS and Android). This allows users of all subscription levels to ask for hard-to-find information or complex music recommendations.

The Alexa Plus integration can find songs you can't remember the name ofbased on lyrics or shows they've appeared on. It also provides information about chart positions, festival lineups , and the meaning behind the lyrics. The AI will also suggest music based on specific seasons, moods, artists, and instruments , and will block out anything you don't want to hear.

“Customers can drill down into genres, discover artist influences and record labels, identify sample sources from their favorite tracks, and even ask, ‘What’s this song about?’” Amazon said in its announcement. “Even when your requests aren’t specific, Alexa Plus connects the dots to deliver the right music.”
