Google recently announced Gemini for Home , which will replace Google Assistant on smart home devices. Compared to Google Assistant, Gemini for Home is described as “ more powerful and easier to use ” due to its “ advanced logic, inference, and search capabilities .” While the “ Hey Google ” keyword remains the same, Google notes that “ rigid commands ” are being replaced with “ more detailed or complex requests .”
Gemini for Home promises the ability to issue commands like “turn off the lights everywhere except my bedroom” and “play that song from the summer movie with the race cars.” It will also allow users to combine multiple commands, a feature Apple has long promised, such as “dim the lights and set the temperature to 25 degrees.”
