2025 Cadillac CT5-V Review

Sibling rivalries can be tough. No matter how much effort one person puts in, the other can reach greater heights, earning accolades along the way. That's largely the situation affecting the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V.

Cadillac CT5-V

With a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, 360 horsepower, a highly adjustable chassis and optional all-wheel drive, all wrapped up in a sleek new 2025 design, the CT5-V is a success in every way. However, the CT5-V Blackwing still impresses with its performance.

However, it’s fair to say that the CT5-V’s lower profile offers freedoms that the Blackwing doesn’t. Starting at $58,390, it’s more than $40,000 cheaper, offering great features like an active suspension, Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels, and all-season tires. While it lacks the Blackwing’s manual transmission, the CT5-V does offer all-wheel drive for an extra $2,000, something the Blackwing lacks. On the roads around Atlanta Motorsports Park, the CT5-V showed off its capabilities, while its interior, equipped with a new 33-inch screen and operating system ’s Google, impressed with its comfort and ease of use.

When adjusting the seats, it took a few minutes of experimentation to get the screens to sync with the controls for the booster and lumbar support settings. When properly adjusted, the seats offer excellent comfort, perfectly combining comfort with support. Heated seats with a massage function are standard, while the new AKG sound system impresses with its accuracy and clarity of sound.

The twin-turbo V6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission delivers agility and instant response. With 360 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque at 2,350 rpm, the CT5-V accelerates with impressive vigor, though it falls short of the brute force of the Blackwing’s 668 horsepower. On the twisty Georgia roads, the CT5-V demonstrates confidence and precision under the steering wheel, while providing impressive traction. The exhaust system is enjoyable, especially in Track mode.

With Super Cruise for highway autonomy and upgraded infotainment technology, the CT5-V stands out equally against competitors such as the BMW 3-series and Mercedes-Benz C-class, offering excellent value for money. Within the CT5 range, the V represents an aspirational mid-range option that, while sitting in the shadow of the Blackwing, shines in its own way.
