Fujifilm has announced that it is working on its first cinema camera, the Fujifilm GFX Eterna.
This new device is designed specifically for video production and is expected to be released in 2025. The GFX Eterna will feature a large-format GFX 102MP CMOS II HS sensor, which is approximately 1.7 times larger than a standard 35mm camera sensor. The large sensor, combined with the processor , will allow users to capture high-quality 3D images. The same sensor and processor are also used in other Fujifilm products, such as the FUJIFILM GFX100 II mirrorless digital camera.

Fujifilm is an established brand in the film industry, supplying products for filmmakers since 1934 and enjoying an excellent reputation. In 2017, the company introduced the GFX series, a digital mirrorless camera with a large sensor almost twice the size of a 35 mm sensor.
GFX Eterna, as the first Fujifilm camera for video production, combines the company's experience in video production with the innovative technology of the GFX series. Additionally, Fujifilm revealed that it is developing a 32-90 mm zoom lens and a base adapter.

The price of the new camera has not yet been announced, although the current GFX100 II costs $7,499.00. The Fujifilm device will be presented for the first time in November at InterBEE 2024, a conference dedicated to professionals of the media and entertainment industry.
