The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will stop receiving software updates from now on.

Samsung has updated the list of devices eligible to receive security updates, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is no longer on that list.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 was ready for three major operating system , and the last of these upgrades — Android 13 — was released in late 2022.

Its last One UI update — version 5.1.1 — was released in September last year, and since then, it has only received security updates. But that stops now.

The Fold 2 might get a final security update in some countries, but Samsung will end support for the second Fold model before the end of the year. If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 2 and are interested in having the most up-to-date software, it's time to upgrade.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a great option for any Fold 2 owners looking to upgrade to a new phone, especially if they want their device to continue receiving updates for a long time to come. The Galaxy Z Fold 6, like all flagship Galaxy phones released in 2024, will receive Android, One UI, and security for seven years.

You could, of course, stick with your Fold 2 for a little longer, especially if you don't think the Galaxy Z Fold 6 offers enough hardware. The Fold 6 is clearly better in many ways, but the Fold series doesn't get huge upgrades year-over-year, unlike Samsung's flagship Galaxy S, so the Fold 6 isn't a huge leap in any respect.
