Someone who limits interactions with everyone but close friends will only see DMs, tags, and mentions from people on their list. People who aren't on your close friends list can still interact with your posts, but you won't see those updates. Most importantly, those accounts won't know that you've hidden their content. You can also choose to see or ignore limited comments and DMs.
Instagram allows you to limit accounts for up to four weeks at a time. However, after that period, you can extend the limit on an account.
You can enable Instagram limits by tapping on profile , selecting the three-line menu in the top right corner of the screen, and selecting Limited interactions. At this point, you can set the limits you want for accounts that don't follow you, Recent followers, or everyone except your close friends.
