
Google brings May update to Pixel phones with bug fixes.
The new version upgrade begins today for global versions of Pixel 5a and above.

Google has just finished launching the new Pixel 8a and Pixel Tablet. On the other hand, the company has also released the May update for Pixel phones (May 7).

In a community post, Google announced the rollout of the update for Pixel devices running Android 14, including the Pixel 5a and above. The global versions of these phones carry build numbers AP1A.240505.004/005 and also include the Pixel Tablet. While the rollout began yesterday, Google says it will continue in phases over the coming weeks, depending on the carrier and device model.

While the May update includes the latest security patch, it also brings bug fixes and improvements for Pixel users. The improvements can be seen in the stability or performance of Bluetooth LE audio for the aforementioned Pixel devices, including the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.
Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro owners who were experiencing camera performance issues under certain conditions, such as when recording a video, have a new fix included in the latest update.

The latest update for Pixel phones follows the Pixel Watch that came out earlier. The update has been rolled out to all Pixel Watch models running Wear OS 4, and is also rolling out in phases, with users expecting it in the coming weeks.
With the monthly updates to Pixel devices now complete and the launch of the Pixel 8a and Pixel Tablet now complete, the search engine is gearing up for Google I/O 2024 on May 14, which is a week away. We'll likely see software announcements alongside Android 15, potential updates coming to Gemini later this year, and a greater focus on artificial intelligence once again.
