OpenAI is reportedly planning to establish an office in Tokyo in April.

The pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence is starting to expand its activities internationally.
Japan plans to open its first office in Asia, without disclosing the identity of the person who made the request. This will be its third international location, following the establishment of offices in London and Dublin last year.

OpenAI sparked a lot of interest in artificial intelligence with the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022. The San Francisco startup is in talks to seek at least $100 billion in funding, Bloomberg reported in December.
The use of artificial intelligence is widespread in Japanese companies, with companies such as SoftBank Corp. and Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp. looking at ways to develop services aimed at Japanese speakers.
After meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida last April, Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, announced that the organization is considering establishing an office in Japan.

It plans to expand services to the Japanese language and work with the government to address risks and comply with regulations.
