Microsoft 's Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 look set to feature new designs and chipset upgrades.
With these upgrades, Microsoft isn't just giving the two devices a new look, it's also improving their specs. With Qualcomm unveiling the Snapdragon X Elite, it's likely that the software giant will choose to use that processor for at least one of these models.

The new Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 are expected to be released in the spring. There are reports that Microsoft is promoting them as next-generation AI that incorporate innovative features.
In addition to using Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite in the Surface Pro 10 or Surface Laptop 6, according to Windows Central, Intel's latest 14th generation processors will also be used, offering more options for consumers who want to choose between an ARM chipset or take advantage of Intel. However, according to reports, both of these units will feature a neural processing unit (NPU), which will help optimize certain settings, such as improving energy efficiency and battery life, depending on the type of work being performed.
Internally, Surface computers equipped with Qualcomm chipsets are called “CADMUS” and will be developed for Microsoft’s next version of Windows, known as Hudson Valley. It seems that after the departure of Panos Panay, Microsoft has decided to follow a completely different path, which seems to be for the better. The Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 can compete with Apple, along with models equipped with 14th generation Intel processors. Microsoft has no other hardware upgrades planned for 2024, although there is a possibility that it will announce a new version of the Surface Laptop Go next year.

A new Surface Laptop Studio is planned for 2025. Considering the high price of the current generation of the Surface line and the lack of differentiation compared to competitors, it's time for a lot of changes. Hopefully, Microsoft will offer competitive products like the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6. Otherwise, it will give companies like Apple another advantage.
