The roadmap reveals that World of Warcraft will release six content updates through fall 2024. It details Cycle 4, which includes the return of the previously announced Dragonflight raid , a new celebratory event, and more. It follows the pre-patch for The War Within, the first chapter of the Worldsoul Saga, which is expected to release this summer.

The Worldsoul Saga was first announced during BlizzCon 2023.It is the 10th, 11th, and 12th expansions in the World of Warcraft timeline and will be described as “the culmination of the first 20 years of our storytelling,” according to executive creative director Chris Metzen. In an interview with IGN, Blizzard explained why the Worldsoul Saga will consist of three expansions and why it is somewhat similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
In addition to the roadmap for The War Within, Blizzard also revealed the roadmap for WoW Classic, which you can find below.

WoW Classic is a slow-paced, legacy MMO that's essentially a side game for regular World of Warcraft subscribers. Modern WoW is designed to get you into the latest content as quickly as possible.
It is recommended that you play the regular “store” new version first.
Worldsoul Saga represents the biggest development Blizzard's MMORPG has made in years, making 2024 particularly crucial. World of Warcraft has been on a roll recently, with the Dragonflight expansion being well-received by fans, but it's also facing increasing competition. Final Fantasy XIV will also be releasing an expansion in 2024, meaning the two MMOs will be going head-to-head.
