iPhone Tips

Here are some Tips & Tricks to make your everyday life easier:

  • White noise is great for getting things done, relaxing, or getting rid of annoying sounds. No additional app required. Just open Settings and go to Accessibility > Sound/Visual > Background Sounds. Then turn on Background Sounds and choose your preferred sound, like ocean, rain, stream, and more.
  • You can now take photos through the app on your iPhone without them showing up in your camera roll. Go to Settings > Notes and turn off “ Save to Photos.” Then open the Notes app, create a new note, and tap the camera icon to take a photo or video.

  • The App Privacy Report reveals how apps use your personal data. To access it ,go to Settings > Privacy & security > App Privacy Report.
  • If your smart assistant's soft tones annoy you, you can change its voice. I'm a fan of the Australian voice. Go to Settings > Siri & Search > Siri Voice . If you're using Android , on most phones with Google Assistant , just say "Hey Google, open Assistant settings." Then go to All Settings > Assistant Voice and choose one you like.
  • Open Settings > Accessibility > Magnifier. Triple-click the side button and you'll see your camera turn into a magnifying glass.
  • Typing with your thumb at the bottom of a screen is an easier option, which led Amazon to redesign its shopping app to move the search bar there. Chrome for iPhone has a similar feature. Just tap and hold on a URL and you’ll see the “Move address bar” option appear at the bottom or top of the screen.
  • The iOS 17 update resets some user privacy settings. If you ever turned off “Important Locations” on your iPhone, the update may turn them back on.

  • Just like with email, you can mark a text as unread, which makes it easier to respond. On iPhone, simply swipe right on a conversation to mark it as unread. This feature is only available on iPhone 15.
  • Almost every social networking site strips away the metadata that reveals small details about a photo, like when, where, and how it was taken, but not the data that shows when you send a photo. You can prevent this process. Open the image you want to send and tap the share button. Then, select the “Options” option and turn off location. Finally, tap “Done.”
  • Emergency SOS lets you call for help if you find yourself without mobile coverage. It’s saved lives. You can use Emergency SOS by pressing the side button and either volume button until “Emergency SOS” appears. Slide it or continue to press and hold the side button and volume buttons to automatically contact services . Before you turn it on, set up your Medical ID and emergency contacts.
