Diablo IV: New update makes classes a little more powerful

Blizzard has just released a new update for the RPG Diablo IV. The latest patch notes mark some crucial changes to the game, particularly around buffing all five character classes.

Barbarians, one of the worst classes in the game when you start your journey to save the world of Sanctuary, are seeing many of their abilities—like Bash, Kick, Double Swing, and Lunging Strike—get increased damage and/or reduced cooldowns. The same goes for other character classes, like Druids, whose abilities now deal more damage and have shorter cooldowns. This means that Necromancers, the best class and my favorite of the bunch, and Sorcerers, the most played class, will likely dominate Sanctuary even more than they already do, while the other classes are now more viable alternatives to try out.

Blizzard explained in a developer note that the team is always monitoring the performance of classes and will make adjustments based on player feedback.

This update is a godsend for four of the five classes in particular. While Necromancers were already a bit overpowered, the June 5th update significantly toned down the rest. It's hard to say if update 1.0.3 will restore Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, and Sorcerer to their former glory, but at least they're stronger than they were earlier this month.

Patch 1.0.3, the latest update for Diablo IV, also introduces some much-needed fixes and improvements to various systems in the game. This includes issues with open-world activities like dungeons and events, some of which were previously blocked from progressing due to nasty bugs, as well as local co-op adjustments and quest changes, such as the NPC Lacthan doubling up during the “Bound by Blood” quest you receive within the ruined city of Margrave.
