The standard models of Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 series will not feature display LPTO an , so they will not offer ProMotion support or an always-on display option (unlike the Pro models).
The latest iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max use an updated low-power display backlighting, which supports ProMotion refresh rates ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. The display refresh rate adjusts based on what’s happening on the screen. Lower rates are used for static content, while higher rates are reserved for motion like games and videos. This allows users to have a smoother, more responsive experience.

According to an industry source cited by news aggregation account “yeux1122” on the Korean Naver blog, only the Pro models of the iPhone 15 series will be equipped with the LPTO panels required for ProMotion. This suggests that the feature will remain exclusive to Apple ’s most expensive models (as is the case with the iPhone 14).

“Apple is said to have already made arrangements for the delivery of display panels for the iPhone 15 series and will soon finalize the details and prepare for mass production. If this information is true, unfortunately the always-on display option will also remain an exclusive feature of the Pro models.
The Naver blog source confirms the thinking of analyst Ross Young, who in September 2022 said he expects Dynamic Island to be present on all iPhone 15 models, but some restrictions will likely prohibit Apple from bringing LPTO panels to the entire iPhone 15 lineup.
