A video hosted on YouTube has caused significant issues on Pixel phones, according to Android Authority. Those affected by the issue are unable to watch the video without their phone immediately restarting.

Many users have taken to Reddit to report that when they play this particular clip from the 1979 film Alien on the YouTube app, it crashes their Pixel 6 or 7. In some cases, the video plays for a few seconds before freezing and the phone restarts. Other users claimed that as soon as the YouTube app started loading the clip, phones went into a soft reboot.

The video itself, which is two years old, is a scene from the classic sci-fi horror film Alien, which is available in 4K HDR. But if you have one of the potentially affected phones, we don't advise watching it, as your device may crash due to an unspecified glitch related to the way Pixels handle color — similar issues that caused some Android devices to freeze with a certain wallpaper.
This isn’t the first time YouTube has caused issues on Google’s latest and greatest Android phones. Last month, some Pixel 7 owners reported that their phones crashed or froze when they were watching YouTube in full-screen and swiping up on the navigation bar. This is supposed to take you to the home screen or open the recent apps.
