A CPU essentially acts as the “brain” of a computer. It processes instructions from various sources in order to perform tasks. This includes calculations, data storage and retrieval, user commands, software program instructions, and more. The CPU is what makes modern computers so versatile—without it, computers wouldn’t be able to perform complex tasks like playing games or streaming video.
Google's latest feature , Memory Saver , has been shown to reduce Chrome's memory usage by up to 40% and 10GB . The company promises that the innovative performance tweak will ensure smooth and uninterrupted video streaming, gaming sessions, and other active tabs.
Over the next few weeks, the memory saver feature will be available to Windows , macOS , and ChromeOS users worldwide. While not everyone has access to it yet, Google is in the process of expanding this feature globally. Luckily, if the Settings > Performance page isn't visible to you, it can be enabled quickly and easily using Chrome's experimental features.

Memory Saver will then run silently in the background to free up RAM for other activities. At any time, you can take control of the feature by simply clicking Settings in the three-dot menu and selecting “Performance” from the corresponding submenu.
Here you can also prevent Chrome from disabling individual sites. To do this, click the “Add” button next to “Always keep these sites enabled.”.
