The second part of the new Civilization 6 Leader Pass DLC: Three Great Commanders came with 3 new ingame commanders as well as a trailer, which shows us the modeling, the unique abilities they have, but also their strategies.
The 3 new commanders will give us the opportunity for more choices, since the “civilizations” of Japan, Persia and the Ottoman Empire only had one commander.

In the new Civilization 6 DLC, the first of the three Great Commanders introduced in the trailer is the Japanese shogun (a title held by the highest military leader during the Japanese Middle Ages) Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Tokugawa's unique ability is called "Bakuhan". This makes any Japanese city within six blocks of the capital always 100% loyal to Japan. Domestic trade routes get a bonus to Culture, Science and Gold, but foreign trade routes have a 25% cut. However, when you unlock airplanes, you will get bonus Tourism points for each district in a city.
Nader Shah of Persia is more focused on combat. His unique ability, "Sword of Persia", gives +5 Combat strength when attacking units with full HP. Additionally, cities not founded by Nader Shah, i.e. cities you have conquered, receive additional Faith and Gold on domestic trade routes, so we recommend early level snowballing.
This fits in very well with Persia's unique unit, the Immortal, which has strong resistance to melee attacks in the early game, while also being able to make powerful long-ranged attacks.
Suleiman (Muhteşem) the Magnificent, for the Ottoman Empire, focuses heavily on Phases. When in the Golden Age, his unique ability, aptly titled (The Magnificent), increases Science and Culture production. When not in the Golden Age, however, he gains an additional combat advantage when facing units from different cultures that are not in the Golden Age. In other words, players will be encouraged to upgrade their technology at certain times of the game, and then go on the offensive at others.
