Metamask is one of the most popular software cryptocurrency wallet , due to its simplicity and flexibility. You can use it for NFTs , for buying and selling tokens on decentralized exchanges (DEXs), or for accessing a variety of DeFi apps (dApps). If you use MetaMask, then you might be interested to know that the wallet can be installed as an extension in your browser (Chrome etc.) or downloaded to your smartphone (iPhone and Android) as an app.
To use it as a browser extension, you must be using one of the following: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, or Microsoft Edge. See below for the process of installing the extension in Chrome (if you use Firefox, the steps for downloading and installing are similar). Once installed, MetaMask works the same way, regardless of the browser.

Google Chrome: Installing the MetaMask wallet
To get started, go to the MetaMask download page.
Once you are on the download page, click on “Install MetaMask for Chrome“.
A new tab will open that will direct you to the Chrome Web Store. There will be an option in the top right corner to install MetaMask. Click “Add to Chrome.”
Then, a new page will open. Click on the “Get Started” button.
At this point, you should click on “Create a Wallet”. If you already have a wallet, click on “Import wallet”.
If you have downloaded MetaMask on your phone, then you can use “Import wallet” to integrate between your computer and phone. You can do the same thing if you want to use MetaMask in multiple browsers on different computers.
The next page will ask you if you want to agree to the MetaMask user agreement. Whatever choice you make, you can continue with the process.

After that, you will need to create a password for your wallet. Make sure you agree to the Terms of Use. The password will need to be entered every time MetaMask is used via the Chrome browser (and others accordingly).
At this point, you will be given access to your Secret Backup Phrase, which is very important. You should never forget your Secret Backup Phrase. If you forget your password, your Secret Backup Phrase is the only way to access your MetaMask wallet. Also, no one else should know this phrase, as they will be able to access your wallet. Store this information in a safe place (not on your computer).
Click on the box that says “Click here to reveal secret words” and write your Secret Backup Phrase.

After recording the Phrase, click on the words in the order they appeared and click “Confirm”.
That's it! You've now created your MetaMask wallet. You can view your account balance, buy and send Ethereum , and see your recent activity.
In the future, if you want to open the MetaMask wallet in your browser, click on the fox icon (MetaMask logo) in the upper right corner. If you don't see the fox, click on the puzzle piece icon on the right that contains your extensions. You should find it there.
