Elon Musk: “I’ll buy Coca-Cola to put cocaine back in it”

Elon Musk is trolling by saying he's going to buy Coca-Cola to put cocaine back in it.

It was recently announced that the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, is buying Twitter for about $44 million. Musk has always been very active on the platform and has occasionally caused reactions with his peculiar tweets. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX used and still uses Twitter to talk about his business activities, but also to express his opinions on various issues. However, it is not uncommon for him to make humorous tweets.

Now, the billionaire entrepreneur has stirred up his followers with a tweet that has many wondering if he's serious or trolling. On Wednesday night, the Tesla tweeted that his next acquisition will be Coca-Cola, one of the largest beverage companies in the world. "Next, I'm going to buy Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in," Elon Musk wrote, recalling the company's early years, when it was allegedly selling a bottle containing about 3.5 grams of cocaine.

Musk was obviously joking, and many users thought he was trolling. However, Musk had previously tweeted about buying Twitter, which was also seen as a joke. Earlier this week, however, the deal was officially announced.

On the other hand, buying a company like Coca-Cola is very different from Elon Musk's recent purchase of Twitter. This is a larger company.

One of Elon Musk's followers stressed that he is "too poor" to afford the multinational beverage company, especially after the completion of the Twitter purchase.

“Elon, you are too poor to buy Coca-Cola,” Fintwit, a popular finance account, wrote to Musk, while sharing a screenshot of the company’s stock prices.

Later that night, he admitted that there were indeed limits to his acquisitions. He even made another humorous tweet, posting a fake tweet (meme) claiming that the richest man in the world was considering buying McDonald's in order to "fix all the ice cream machines". Musk posted this tweet and wrote: "Listen. I can't do miracles, okay."

The original tweet, which has now garnered more than 2.9 million likes and hundreds of thousands of retweets, was filled with comments suggesting more ideas for companies the billionaire could "fix."
