Mozilla released Firefox 81.0.2 today, October 13, 2020, to the stable channel for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android with a fix for a known issue that prevents the Twitter website from loading.
The issue affecting a large number of Firefox users caused the web browser to display blank pages or errors instead of loading Twitter pages on both desktop and mobile devices.

The Firefox 81.0.2 release notes state that this version “Fixed an incompatibility with Twitter.com that manifested as an intermittent display of an error page.”
You can update to Firefox 81.0.2 by going to Options -> Help -> About Firefox and the browser will automatically check for the new update and install it when it is available.

Users affected after updating to Firefox 81.0
Although Mozilla did not share which Firefox versions were affected by this issue, users reported that Twitter loading errors started appearing after updating to Firefox 81.0 last month.
On devices where the web browser failed to load the Twitter website, users saw the error “The website at https://twitter.com/ encountered a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.”.
“The page you are trying to view cannot be displayed because an error was detected in the data,” the error also said. “Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.”
If you are unable to update to version 81.0.2 immediately, you can follow this procedure to resolve errors that appear when trying to open Twitter:
Type about:serviceworkers in the address bar (as seen in the screenshot below)

Look for Twitter in the list, then click the Unregister button.
Twitter will load the next time you visit it.
