T-Mobile breach affects prepaid customers

The well-known company T-Mobile recently revealed a security breach in system , which affected a small number of its prepaid customers .

As the company stated: “We want to inform you of an incident that we recently identified and promptly corrected, which affected some of your personal information.

The company's security team discovered and disrupted malicious and unauthorized access to certain information on some wireless accounts. We immediately reported this to the authorities. None of your financial information (including credit card information) or social security numbers were compromised, and there were no password breaches."

The leaked data includes the billing name and address, phone number, account number, billing rate, and features, such as whether the customer has added international calling capabilities.

T-Mobile confirmed that it had taken the necessary steps to block the attackers and immediately notified authorities of the breach.

The company is notifying customers affected by the incident via email, however, users who wish to do so can also contact Customer Service to receive additional information regarding the incident.

The company urges customers to immediately change their PIN/passcode, whether they belong to those affected or not.

It also advises customers to be careful and cautious with the messages they receive, as there may be a phishing, with the aim of stealing financial data.

Another suggestion for T-Mobile customers is to monitor their bank accounts for any suspicious activity and file a report with the bank if they spot any.
