The Bridges Awards are a new Awards institution that is part of the "Bridges of Knowledge and Cooperation" Initiative and aims to strengthen networking and cooperation, to exchange and transfer know-how and to create new prospects for synergies and employment opportunities between Greek scientists - researchers and entrepreneurs everywhere with those residing in Greece.

With the slogan "We bridge the distance, we reward cooperation", the "Bridges of Knowledge and Cooperation" initiative is launching a new Awards institution to highlight and reward cooperation between Greeks throughout the world.
The Bridges Awards (https://awards.knowledgebridges.gr), which is being implemented for the first time this year, includes two award categories, the “Bridges of Scientific Networks” and the “Bridges of Business Cooperation”. The first category rewards individual scientific networks or collaborating networks from Greece and abroad, which have demonstrated remarkable results, and in which at least 15 members from all over the world participate. The second category focuses on business schemes, in which Greeks and foreign nationals (of Greek or non-Greek origin) participate, with the aim of producing a product or service with an impact on the country.
The main objectives of the Bridges Awards include the operation of the awards institution as a source of encouragement and promotion of the country's creative human resources wherever they are located, the strengthening of the ties between Greeks or Greek-origin scientists, professionals and entrepreneurs who live and work abroad with Greece, the development of collaborations that lead to mutual benefit, the increase in the extroversion of Greek businesses and their products and services and finally, the creation of conditions for addressing the phenomenon of the leakage of specialized human resources from Greece.
Within the framework of the Bridges Awards, cash prizes will be awarded to up to 6 scientific network collaborations and up to 6 business collaborations with an impact in Greece.
For the scientific network awards:
- 1st Prize: 15,000 euros
- 2nd Prize: 12,000 euros

The submission of online applications began on Friday, May 31, 2019 and will end on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 17:00 (Greek time). Interested parties can learn about the terms and conditions of participation, as well as submit the online award application at https://awards.knowledgebridges.gr.
