Bootloader on Android is locked or not?

Bootloader: locked or not? One of the best features of Android is that you can gain root access. This way, if you're running an older version of Android that no longer receives updates, you can install a custom ROM.

Bootloader

You can customize almost anything on an Android mobile device with root access. Below we will see how you can check what state your device's bootloader is in.

Unlocking the bootloader requires minimal skills and you can do it without any particular problem. In case you want to check if your device's bootloader is locked or unlocked, follow the steps below.

You can check the bootloader status directly from your device. The method below works on most mainstream devices. If it works on your device, you can use the PC method described below: .

On your Android device, open the Phone app and enter the code below.

*#*#7378423#*#*

A new window will open. In this window, follow the path: Information Services – Configuration. There you will see whether the Bootloader of your device is locked or not.

PC method

If the above method doesn't work on your device, we will find the bootloader status from your computer. It's very simple but you will first need to download the ADB & Fastboot tools (Darwin, Linux, and Windows) from Google.

Download the file and extract the contents to a folder. Then, open a command prompt window in that folder. You can do this by typing cmd in the Windows 10 search. Then go to the path using cd. (for example if the folder is on the desktop cd C:\Users\iguru\Desktop\fakelos )

Next, you need to put your phone into Fastboot mode. To do this, turn off your phone. Then, hold down the Volume Down and Power buttons until your device restarts. Once it turns on, release Power but continue to hold down the Volume Down button until you see the bootloader screen.

Connect your phone to your computer via data cable. Once connected, run the command below. If you see a code, it means your device has been detected.
