BitTorrent announced today that its latest creation, uTorrent Web, has surpassed 1 million daily active users.

uTorrent Web has been available in beta for years, but the web-based torrent client finally went live exactly a month ago, on September 4th.
So it's not like it took just a month to reach its one million user milestone. However, uTorrent Web seems to have been adopted quite quickly from the late beta stages to the stable release.
BitTorrent is the peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing protocol that is most often used for online piracy. However, there is also a company called BitTorrent, which has two of the most popular applications: BitTorrent and uTorrent (also known as µTorrent).
The main difference between uTorrent Web and the apps is that all downloads are done from within the browser. Like uTorrent, uTorrent Web can play audio and video files before the streaming download is complete. However, unlike uTorrent, playing a movie or audio file is done within the browser. Of course, you can upload and download other file types just like with a regular torrent app.
It should be mentioned that the classic uTorrent seems to be superior to the Web for many different reasons. uTorrent Web brings a lot of annoying notifications to the browser for example, but also burdens your browser application with additional processes.
