CAINE 9.0 Quantum: CAINE (Computer Aided INvestigative Environment) is a GNU/Linux distribution based on Ubuntu. 
It was designed by Italian programmer Nanni Bassetti and offers a complete digital forensics environment. The distribution was updated today, October 25, 2017, to version 9.0.
The new release is called “Quantum,” and is powered by the long-term supported Linux 4.4.0-97 kernel and Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus).
The CAINE 9.0 Quantum operating system , after a year of hard work, comes with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), and new tools.
Added/Modified RegRipper, VolDiff, SafeCopy, PFF tools, pslistutil, mouseemu. Installed NBTempoX, Osint: Infoga, The Harvester, Tinfoleak regfmount, libregf-utils and many other applications.
The SSH server is disabled by default (the manual page states how to re-enable it). SystemBack is now used as a system installer.
