According to a new report by IEEE Spectrum, the Python programming language is number one on the list of programming languages.
The study was conducted using the following sources: CareerBuilder, Google, GitHub, Hacker News, IEEE, Reddit, Stack Overflow, and Twitter. For each source, searches, mentions for each programming language, and job postings made in the last 30 days were examined.

Python was the only one to get 100% using the IEEE methodology. Next in order of priority were Java, C, and C++. It is worth noting that C++ followed C, even though it was released in 1985, a full 13 years later.
Python is perhaps the most popular programming language. The fact that it supports AI (Artificial Intelligence) plays an important role in this.
This report divides programming languages into four categories.
- Web,
- Enterprise,
- Mobile,
- Embedded.

In the Web category, Python was first, followed by Java, Javascript , and C+. The same was true in the Enterprise category, as well as in Embedded. Until recently, C was traditionally the first choice for such issues, due to its reduced memory access. However, the IEEE reported that the increased use of the Python programming language and the rise of its specialized versions, such as CircuitPython and MicroPython, have helped increase its popularity.
C++ took third place for embedded languages, followed by C#. Java took first place in the Mobile category. It was followed by C, C++ and C#.
